About the practice

MTA (Michael Trentham Architects) is an award winning architecture firm established in SE1 London to create contemporary, innovative buildings on time and on budget in the residential, retail, leisure and office sectors. The practice was founded in 2001 by Michael Trentham after extensive experience directing architectural projects in the Middle East and London. Design quality and simplicity is fundamental to our work, ranging from one-off pieces of furniture to large new-build mixed use projects. We work closely with clients and consultants from planning to construction, analysing restrictions and constraints to create efficient, innovative and well-built spaces for living, working and relaxing. Our objective for each project is to exceed your expectations, within your budget and timescale. We believe that good architecture directly influences the quality of our lives and is generated by the spiritual as well as material needs of people. We are committed to low energy and sustainable design. We creatively use colour, light and everyday materials as well as technology, where appropriate. We work as a team, together with our clients, consultants and a range of specialist suppliers to achieve design excellence and exceed your objectives.  Our expertise ranges from individual Grade II Listed refurbishments and extensions to modern new-build schemes. We offer a full range of architectural services including: interior design, urban planning, feasibility studies and project management.   We have worked on projects in 20 boroughs across London, and have extensive experience dealing with the different Local Authorities.
