About the practice

Slab Design Union is Alan Morrissey, an ARB registered architect with over two decades of professional experience. Alan studied at the Birmingham School of Architecture and the Oxford Brookes School of Architecture, where his thesis project was nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal. Prior to establishing Slab Design Union, Alan’s professional experience includes Axis Design Collective, Stride Treglown, Make Architects, Glenn Howells Architects, ADP Architects, Rider Levett Bucknall and Populous. Alan has also previously been a visiting tutor at the Birmingham School of Architecture and a Part 3 Professional Studies Mentor in Practice. At Slab Design Union, Alan encourages a collaborative, proactive, hands-on approach to design, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and end-users to fully understand the requirements of each project and deliver architecture that exceeds the brief and is environmentally and socially responsible.
