About the practice

The expensive mistakes happen early, before anything is drawn. What the site will actually allow. What is worth spending money on. What to leave alone. Get those wrong, and no amount of good design later recovers it, which is why every project starts with a pre-design to diagnose what your project actually needs, rather than what you might think it needs.  I see your project through from start to finish. With me, you won't become just a cog in a corporate wheel, nor will you be relegated to an assistant role. It's a collaborative journey between you and me to realise your project’s full potential. Good design does not depend on a large budget. It depends on the right principles and the right decisions, made in the right order. Working within the material, time and cost constraints of your project is the job, not a compromise on it. You see your project before it exists. We model in Rhino 3D and print physical models, so what you approve is something you can hold and walk around. The same model drives the construction information, giving you tighter control over quality, pace and precision on site. I came to architecture through carpentry. That grounding means the details you are paying for are ones a builder can actually build, at the price quoted. It is a common source of cost overruns, and it is avoidable.
