About the practice

Hills+Co. are a contemporary, dynamic, environmentally focussed, Architecture and Interiors design studio based in the beautiful Wye Valley AONB working across the south of UK and Wales. We specialise in bespoke, low energy architecture and interiors and our work responds to the rich rural environment we live and work in, respecting context and heritage providing projects fit for our modern times. We are a Certified Passive House Designer. We enjoy working closely with our clients to understand the ambition and develop unique responses. To deliver a successful project, we listen carefully. As such we seek to create carefully crafted and designed spaces that offer delight, with the finest detailing and environmental principles. As Royal College of Art trained professionals, we offer an integrated architecture and interiors service that is unique amongst our peers. We currently have a 100% planning record for our work. We have vast experience producing contemporary low energy architecture within rural locations and in other sensitive areas including AONB, Conservation Areas, SSSI's, National Parks etc. We have complimentary experience in dealing with planning, ecology, trees, and other planning related obstacles. Our recent projects include: new build Passivhaus projects in AONB's; Grade II Listed low energy extensions and refurbishments; Paragraph 80 house in an AONB and Conservation Area, contemporary house extension in an Area of Archeological Sensitivity, a bespoke high-end 'Treehouse' adjacent to a SSSI to name a few.
