Greenacres Treehouse is a unique, low energy, luxury treehouse holiday accommodation, in a steeply sloping woodland with views towards the Severn Estuary in the Wye Valley AONB. This is a project about journey and discovery. On leaving the open field above, the journey begins towards the destination via an obvious threshold into the woods. This continues down through the steeply sloping site via a 'snake-like' access, developed to take full advantage of this journey through the tree canopy. The platform is supported by random timber columns, mimicking the woodland tree context. On arrival the treehouse interior opens up slowly to reveal the setting. The luxury accommodation is carefully developed and sited to protect privacy from the remainder of the site with woodland views focussed to the south. The external terrace and mezzanine bedroom provide an aspect which are truly unique.
