About the practice

vHH is a multi-award-winning, design-led practice with people and sustainability at the heart of everything we do. Nothing sparks our creativity more than complex projects involving delicate sites, particular briefs, or the creative adaptation and reuse of existing buildings. With over 40 years’ experience across all sectors—particularly in education—we deliver creative, energy-efficient, high-specification solutions. Attention to detail, energy efficiency, craftsmanship, and a deep focus on materials, acoustics and daylight are fundamental to our design approach. These qualities give our buildings longevity and make them enjoyable, stimulating places to be. In 2023 we were recognised for our work in sustainability, winning both the Net Zero Architect of the Year Award and the inaugural RIBA Regeneration Award. Our project procedures include using OneClick analysis to measure and record environmental impact, and we regularly engage with UK Architects Declare, Camden Climate Change Alliance and ACAN (Architects Climate Action Network). vHH takes a holistic approach to design; we believe the development of any site is as much about the spaces between buildings as the buildings themselves. We aim to create useful places of exceptional quality, and the many awards we have received over the years demonstrate our success in achieving this.
