Contact PracticeMedical Architecture is a leading healthcare architectural design firm. Founded in 1991, we focus specifically on the medical sector, providing a full range of services from envisioning, strategic and clinical planning, business cases, architecture, interior design and post occupancy evaluation. We have designed over 70 new build hospitals or specialist healthcare facilities, hundreds of renovation schemes and undertaken numerous consultancy projects. We are based in the UK with offices in London and Newcastle upon Tyne, but work globally, with projects in Australasia, North America, West Africa and Europe. As well as award-winning designs, our projects are used as quality benchmarks worldwide. Our collaborative delivery teams use the latest BIM technology and are conversant with health building standards and technical guidance. This ensures technical compliance and coordinated documentation. Our design-led ethos is underpinned by research and innovation. We design high-performing buildings that deliver long-term value, are flexible, responsive and adaptable. Experience and knowledge means we apply evidence to improve health outcomes. Early engagement and a LEAN approach to planning ensure layouts support efficient clinical pathways and that the workforce is used effectively. This co-ordinated approach provides settings that foster better treatment whilst being beautiful, with natural daylight, ventilation and integral, landscaped gardens. Directors Bob Wills, Paul Yeomans, Lianne Knotts and Ruairi Reeves lead the company today, alongside a strong team of architecture professionals in our two offices. Company Founder Christopher Shaw retired in 2021.
