About the practice

Khan Bonshek are an award winning architectural practice driven by an interest in materiality and it’s effect upon the user. Co-founded by Sabba Khan and Mark Bonshek in 2021, Khan Bonshek’s signature approach is best encapsulated by their self-build - Two-up Two-down House in East London. Both Sabba and Mark were actively involved in making components for the house, which included on-site casting, curved gutters and mosaic floors.They are not only committed to bringing quality to domestic life, but are involved in the urbanism surrounding our homes. Their Green Lungs' pitch to RIBA's Rethink 2025 competition and the Stratford High Street's strategy document both show a commitment to improving civic life for Newham's local residents. These projects also weave in Sabba's award winning visual arts practice which explores the lived experiences of marginalised voices in cities. We work closely with our Clients to understand the deeper aspirations for their spaces, and use these as guiding principles for each project. Spaces curated for moments of joy and celebration are at the centre of our practice.
