Working within a self-contained flat in the Grade II Listed German Hospital Extension, Dalston, Khan Bonshek were approached to sensitively rationalise the initial conversion to residential whilst renovating period features damaged during the initial works. Khan Bonshek have proposed a revised entrance sequence, flexible home working space and new bathroom drawing upon the art deco styling of the original building by  Sir John Burnet, Tait & Lorne. Utilising the sand - gold coloured terrazzo of the wet areas to the former residential ward, the practice has looked to repair damaged areas whilst highlighting the traces of former use. More to come.
