Contact PracticeAY Architects is committed to the design of distinctive environments for people to live, work and learn in. We make meaningful, sustainable and award winning architecture through intimately engaging with our collaborators and by following design processes that address the unique cultural and environmental contexts. We have experience in the delivery of school buildings, having completed six educational buildings and extensions within the London Borough of Camden in the last six years. Eleanor Palmer Science Lab, a new building typology for teaching science and technology subjects (STEM/STEAM) to primary school children. won a 2019 RIBA National Award and was highly commended in the 2019 Wood Awards. Our self-initiated rebuilding of Montpelier Community Nursery is an exemplary nursery that embraces ecology, landscape and the local community. It received a 2013 RIBA National Award and the Stephen Lawrence Prize for the best building in the UK constructed under £1 million. We have also recently completed two high quality extensions to Camden School for Girls. We also produce highly imaginative homes. Dartmouth Park House, a radical alteration of the terrace house typology, won a 2018 RIBA London Award and was nominated for the House of the Year Award and shortlisted for the 2018 Stephen Lawrence Prize. We have also completed a range of significant installations and exhibitions, including House of Flags for the GLA erected on Parliament Square as part of the London Olympic Games in 2012 and ‘Losing Myself’, an installation for the Irish Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale.
