The project involves a two story extension of the main school building, providing very valuable additional space to the ground level dining hall and staff offices above together joined with a new entrance foyer from street level into a renovated entrance lobby. The design overcomes very challenging changes of ground level from the street to the main school building by creating a continuous stepped landscape drawn through the site that responds to the different conditions fronting the building; a ramped entrance and sunken courtyard, an internal stair and outside terraced seating area connecting the dining hall. The playful pleated façade made from glass reinforced concrete panels, references the materiality of the main building, id poised above the stepped landscape by a glazed envelop wrapping the extension, allowing natural light deep into the existing building.
