Located within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the proposal seeks to establish principals for the conversion and extension of the listed barn and adjoining buildings. The scheme proposes to reuse the existing buildings and site to maintain them in accordance with their status as heritage assets, in perpetuity. Working from the existing site and associated buildings through to the final proposal, particular design moves have informed the final scheme. Initially stripping back the site, leaving the boundaries, barn and cow sheds, the new extension will be separate from the old barn, but connected and complementary.
