The transformation of an 18th Century barn to create a modern family home that celebrates history, nature and quality of space. A glazed link was created to connect the existing kitchen and living room, bringing in natural light and providing a dining space with views out over the garden. The new garden studio, loosely connected to the house by proximity, stands independently within the garden. The use of reclaimed timber columns reinforced with steel, Corten details, and cleverly placed mirror allows the studio to blend into the context and link back to the main house through material choice and tone.
