Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (Conservation Area) We are super excited we received Planning for several extensions from a double storey rear to roof alterations with a link to the main house and a split level canopy area housing a jacuzzi and outdoor entertaining space within a well known conservation area in Sutton Coldfield. The project also includes internal alterations with playful nooks and secret spaces to enjoy within this family home. The brief included additions to enhance the original characterful property based on the Arts and Crafts era and celebrate its character. Our conversations with our client along the way has allowed us to push the boundaries and introduce modern elements with modern materials to celebrate the quality of detail and workmanship in a new way without losing respect for the original character of the property. The key aspects of this have been to look at usability and how the family are able to have their own spaces but equally allow them to connect together. Feeling comfortable, stress free and practicality have been key to designing this property but with a few unusual features to maintain its own personality. Design well, live better®
