In 2014 RCKa was appointed by Camden Council to investigate the long-term future of Highgate Newtown Community Centre through creative development of its existing site. RCKa was selected for its experience of public engagement and track record of achieving planning permission for innovative housing and community projects on challenging urban sites. Following two years of public engagement, planning approval was granted for a new community centre and youth centre, a shared sports hall and public square with community cafe. 31 new one, two and three-bedroom apartments will be provided, the sale of which will fund the entire scheme.
