Pritchard Architecture was appointed by two private clients, to repair and conserve two adjoining residential properties. The project will ensure the long-term condition of the houses by completing sensitive conservation repairs and replacing modern alterations undertaken in recent years with more appropriate and sympathetic repairs. The houses were constructed around 1580, originally timber framed and subsequently infilled with masonry. It was a single dwelling with the adjoining property, which was later subdivided into two properties. They consist of two storeys with an attic with plain tiled roof, and have 16 pane sash windows with timber boarded front doors. The houses are listed Grade II and II*. The houses are privately owned as residential properties and had a back log of repairs to undertake. The project involved sensitive conservation repairs, replacing modern alterations undertaken in recent years with more appropriate and sympathetic repairs. This will help to secure the long term future of the properties and to make them more efficient buildings.
