About the practice

Nex are a London based studio who design distinctive buildings and places often in landmark locations and heritage contexts. Our work spans multiple uses including arts & culture, education, workplace, living and leisure. This diversity is underpinned by a consistent focus on people’s experience and connecting our projects to the city with remarkable public realm. We work with public and private clients who see themselves as stewards of their sites and buildings, and enjoy working with complex briefs that have long-term strategic vision. Current and recent clients include the British Museum, the RAF Museum, British Land, the Cadogan Estate, and the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Our studio has received international recognition, wining several architectural competitions, awards, and critical acclaim for our completed work. Alongside our public projects, we love to work with discerning residential clients and enjoy the dialogue to understand their present needs and uncover longer-term aspirations. This relationship of open communication is key throughout the course of a project, informing spaces capable of delight. We like to see residential projects through from inception to completion, and our impeccable record of securing planning and listed building consents, is supported by our depth of experience of working with skilled contractors, joiners and makers.
