A bespoke garden studio designed around the resident’s specific brief, opening out onto a new terrace with in-built BBQ. The building incorporates a garden store which is concealed from view by the main garden room, when seen from the garden. The studio was designed to echo the form and mono-pitched zinc roof of the extended main house, and to stitch into the garden, with an exo-structure which doubles as a pergola for climbing plants. Being a small building, careful detailed design and precision of articulation were key to achieving an elegant construction. Timber wall panels are positioned to align with the spacing of the exposed oak structure, and are mounted with concealed ironmongery to provide cupboards for drinks glasses and crockery.
