The Ransome's Wharf site is located in Battersea on the northern edge of the London Borough of Wandsworth, 100 metres south of the River Thames and a short walk from Battersea Park and Chelsea Embankment. MSMR successfully achieved planning consent for the new build, mixed-use scheme on the disused waterside site. The development includes 118 high quality, private and affordable apartments along with flexible commercial space and significant public realm improvements. MSMR's design for the development responds to the immediate location, surrounding environment and historical context, reflecting the brickwork aesthetic of dockside warehouses. A key objective to improve the permeability of the site has been included in the scheme by means of newly formed pedestrian circulation routes, including a route along Ransome’s Dock to the east of the site.
