Mosedale Gillatt Architects are currently working at Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland, delivering proposals as part of the ambitious ‘The Curtain Rises!’ project. Working closely with our clients at The National Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund, we’ve developed a wide range of conservation proposals across the site, also proposing to create some stunning new visitor facilities to widen the appeal of this already popular destination. This fine eighteenth century estate, home to many listed buildings, includes the Grade 1 listed Hall and Service Wings, designed by Sir John Vanbrugh in the early 1700’s – it is a real privilege to be working with some of the UK’s most important buildings. The detailed development has involved a variety of specialist investigations and we’ve been able to harness the extensive knowledge of the volunteer base and skilled staff working hard to assure Seaton Delaval’s future. Following a successful NLHF Round 2 bid, works commenced in November 2018 and are due for completion in Autumn 2020.
