This is the first new build project to be completed by MTA The site was a vacant playground next to a grade two listed school house, within a conservation area. Planning permission was won for a new build contemporary innovative flatted development of 3 flats. The design was developed to give a greater sense of space and light than actually exists. The open plan living areas are extended into the street with sliding folding corner windows. A structural glass box sits out beyond the site limit providing unique views of Tower Bridge. The privacy to the rear neighbours is achieved by roof lights to the bedrooms giving vertical views of clouds and stars, as majority of time is spent lying down. Everyday materials are detailed innovatively to achieve a unique finish at a low price; with concrete worktops, concrete dinning benches, and lacquered mdf, back painted glass back splashes, Corten effect tiles to the new bathrooms, minimal styled new kitchens, recessed feature lighting, landscaping to terraces.
