The brief involved extending and altering a traditional Victorian terraced house to create a contemporary residential accommodation with generous living area and open plan kitchen/dining area, removing the flank wall, boxyness and end wall creating an open plan kitchen living area whilst respecting the character of the traditional terrace. The street side extension replaced an out of character, lightweight structure with an elegant insertion built using matching materials and details. An additional two storey extension was made to the upper floor extending the bedroom/study and installing a new bathroom. A new kitchen located centrally in the new rear addition, together with an additional downstairs guest bedroom/study. Fort Road London SE1 5PU
