The Ridge is an architect-designed hillside residence in the Malvern Hills National Landscape, Worcestershire, operated as an exclusive-use luxury homestay sleeping six. The plan is a series of vessel spaces suspended within the topography, each framing views in a different direction. Where the gradient descends, the building integrates into the slope, single-storey on the upper approach, two storeys to the valley below. Much of the structure is manufactured off-site using Design for Manufacture and Assembly, then assembled on the plot, protecting the landscape during construction. Curved CLT shell on a stone plinth. Designed to last a hundred years.
