Monocoque II is a second-generation architect-designed holiday cabin sited in the Wye Valley, Herefordshire. Building on the structural logic of the original Monocoque Cabin — laminated timber construction derived from aircraft monocoque principles — this iteration refines the form, improves thermal performance, and introduces cedar shingle cladding with a standing seam zinc roof. Designed as a high-yield luxury holiday let for a rural landowner, the brief required a building that earns its keep, weathers gracefully, and sits lightly on the landscape. Currently in design development.
