Designing for a client with "modern tastes". An attractive raised ground floor apartment, with high ceilings, (in a conservation area in North London), is replanned to fit two bedrooms in place of one, with ventilation and borrowed light added to tighter but still comfortable, now optimised spaces. All apartments in the building were occupied during construction, and the project spanned lockdown. Custom fittings such as bespoke joinery & storage have been added, for better functioning, flexible and comfortable spaces, with a relatively economic approach. Client adds: "..early on, you took a lot of time to find out and understand the design styles and materials that I liked. I was certainly always happy with the way the design evolved".
