New Build
Redesign of a small south-facing garden flat in London, UK. The focus was on creating a well functioning pied a terre in a highly mobile city. The apartment connected via. the garden level right of way to Regents Canal and Jubilee Greenway (2012), a now popular walking and cycle route, connecting via a green network to transit and city center/East end. Elements including stair, bathroom, kitchen were re-organised and rationalised, to create an ordered & coherent set of spaces, with increased built-in storage, better layout (moving a staircase, reconfiguring the bathroom & removing a loadbearing wall), good views, increased light and better privacy & flexibility for the various functions. Services included co-ordinating structural engineering, obtaining approvals, designing & specifying damproofing works to excavated vaults, new services including permanent extract ventilation to the lower level, new lighting and power, new custom stair, new kitchen, new ironmongery, new finishes.
