New Build
A contemporary new-build house designed to the highest environmental levels, in line with Passivhaus uk standards. The inspired holistic design responds to the forms of the surrounding landscape [the fields, the cliffs, the sea], the house?s position as the last at the end of the lane, and uses sustainable local materials. Near zero-carbon sustainability will be attained by the use of: solar thermal panels, local-grown FSC cedar and reclaimed slate cladding over 30 cm sheeps-wool insulation, wild-flower roof, composting toilet, whole-house heat recovery, triple-glazing, wood-burning stove. The combination of all these elements has been carefully balanced to create a house that will require no space heating! This project has gained detailed Planning Permission, and is now under construction [the raft ground floor slab is cast, soil pipes in and connected to the mains sewer].
