When HK Architects were approached to design Lightworks new showroom it was off the back of many years of collaboration on a variety of refurbishment and fit-out projects for developers and end-users. SHOW : ROOM became the simple mnemonic to describe a parti of shop front and multi function space. The space needed to conceal and reveal a number of environments simulating the effect of multiple lighting designs totally transforming the same basic volume. Careful detailing and material selection mean that Lightworks now have a showroom which reflects their meticulous approach to lighting design and product delivery. The original stage set concept has been sublimated into a subtly shifting retail landscape.
