Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
Complete refurbishment, new ground floor façade and new basement to a mews house in South Kensington. The design aimed to introduce natural light into a building that had only one elevation with windows. The new façade directed light, privacy, and view using motorised vertical timber shutters into the ground floor. An internal glass floor set against the front let light down into the basement. Locating the new perforated metal stair with a large rooflight above also allowed light to permeate through each floor into the basement. Full architectural service including contract administration and project management was provided for this project.
