Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
An international collaboration with Athens-based architectural practice Deca Architecture. A bold design that saw a vertical amalgamation of 2 flats in an Edwardian terrace building across from Chelsea Botanical Gardens. The separate 2-bedroom flats were connected by a wide ramp with a narrow staircase on the side, allowing lots of natural light and ventilation through both floors. A rich, sophisticated palette of finishes including Bardiglio grey marble stone and smoked oak was used throughout. Deca Architecture conceived the concept design; Hatterwan Architects produced detailed drawings for tender and construction; and provided contract administration services through the construction stage.
