The Bridge is an award-winning social enterprise charity with a site in the heart of Woolwich. Facture Architects were so keen to work with them that they formed the company to take on the project amongst other professional commitments. The brief posed a challenge to consider how the daytime functioning of the Recovery College and its connection to the ground floor café could coexist with a space that, of an evening, catered to larger supper club events. The answer is Stir Café which combines a fixed architectural element incorporating notice boards and niches with bespoke designed modular bench seating that can be reconfigured to suit the varying functions.
