Frank’s Canteen in Islington needed an interior re-design to make it ready for post lockdown shopping and dining. The chef-owner of Frank’s Canteen, a popular Highbury restaurant asked us to integrate the shop space he ran successfully during lockdown with the re-opened restaurant seating area. He wanted the shop area to be visible, but not dominant and not to get in the way of diners. Keeping a keen eye on budget we designed window bars, counters, display shelves and lattice screens to re-organise the space, using birch ply, spray painted MDF and Hi-Macs (an attractive, hygienic composite material) to give the shop and restaurant a smart, clean and relaxed atmosphere.
