Our client says: "We hired Edwards Rensen Architects for an extension and renovation of our house and have been extremely happy with the results and the help they have provided along the way. From the beginning they set clear expectations of the costs which turned out to be accurate and were very responsive with all our queries. For the project management part they picked an excellent builder with high quality standard and strong work ethic and were able to recommend a fantastic garden designer. Renovating an old house is never easy but Jo and Adrie definitely made the process less difficult for us." This family wanted to enlarge and transform their kitchen-diner (which was so cramped you had to take turns to squeeze into the seats at the table) into a spacious family-kitchen-dining room, with lots of light, and an inviting, relaxed garden. To save space and make the house feel more generous, we made several elements multi-functional – for example, the long side cupboard connects the inside to the outside and is a TV cabinet, boiler cupboard, kitchen storage, dining bench, garden seat and a garden shed all in one. To keep the space calm and uncluttered, we used a small palate of high-quality, slightly unusual, sustainable materials, such as Richlite, which is a paper product, but very durable.
