Located in the heart of London’s bustling financial district at 155 Bishopsgate, Liverpool Street, this project redefines the noodle bar experience by merging tradition with contemporary design. Commissioned by Zhangliang Mala Tang (UK) Limited in collaboration with British Land, our team provided interior design services, including FF&E procurement, to create a space that reflects the artistry of noodle-making and the natural elegance of bamboo. Design Concept & Theme The interior concept draws inspiration from the fluid motion of hand-stretched noodles and the timeless grace of bamboo—a symbol of strength, flexibility, and sustainability. Our vision was to craft an immersive dining space that echoes the serene beauty of bamboo forests while celebrating the vibrant energy of noodle-making. Material & Colour Palette A natural bamboo-focused material palette defines the space, with: - Bamboo screens shaping intimate dining zones while maintaining a cohesive ambiance. - Sleek bamboo furniture featuring clean lines and warm tones, blending modernity with tradition. - A nature-inspired colour scheme of earthy greens, warm wood hues, and subtle gold accents, evoking the tranquility of sunlit bamboo groves. Collaborating Teams The project was brought to life by a multidisciplinary team, including: - Interior Design & FF&E Procurement: William Hailiang Chen, Van Tran, Stoyan Gerchev, Yuqian Li, Ruolei Xiang - MEP Consultant: Eyelevel Design - Lighting Consultant: Ensoco London UK This project showcases how thoughtful material choices and design storytelling can transform a dining space into a sensory journey—one that seamlessly blends tradition, sustainability, and modern aesthetics.
