A masterpiece of restrained luxury, South Kensington House showcases the perfect collaboration between Architect, Interior Designer and Client. Working with Studio Ashby, Cousins & Cousins were appointed to refurbish, remodel and extend the Client’s Grade II Listed family home addressing the existing poor connectivity and plan configuration to improve movement throughout the property and natural light levels, along with enhancing connectivity with the garden. By carefully peeling back the layers of history to reveal the original features, we were able to sensitively modernise the house whilst retaining its provenance and historical significance. Works to the house include a new mansard roof extension, a replacement rear closet wing providing level access to the garden, and a sensitive reconfiguration of the interior spaces, mindful of the Listed status.
