This project involved the design and construction of two new-build town houses on a compact infill site in Greenwich. Our approach focused on creating a contemporary character that remains sympathetic to the surrounding historic context. The scheme is highly sustainable, utilising natural, breathable building materials such as timber fibre insulation and hemp blocks. These choices ensure an environmentally responsible build that provides a healthy living environment and a significantly reduced carbon footprint. Internally, each house features three large double bedrooms arranged to maintain a constant connection with the outdoors. The layout is designed so that the presence of the garden is felt throughout the home. We incorporated generous window seats and large bay windows at both the front and back to maximise natural light and create peaceful spots for reflection. The result is a pair of characterful, high-quality homes that simplify modern urban living while prioritising well-being and a strong link to nature.
