The Garden Hide is an experimental self build studio in Greenwich, designed and constructed by our directors Kate and Graham to house the southern Commonbond office. Exploring the potential of breathable, biocircular hempcrete, we provided full architectural and construction services to create a permanent workspace embedded within the landscape. Externally, the building presents a modest mono pitch roof with deep overhanging eaves. Inside, the floor is sunken by a metre to create a moment of unexpected delight. The resulting interior is generous, light filled, and offers a quiet, intimate connection to the garden and visiting wildlife.
