This project involved a comprehensive re-imagining of a home in Deal for an artist and maker couple. The design reconfigures the entrance and ground floor to significantly improve accessibility and increase natural light throughout the house. By opening up the layout, we established new long views and created a connected suite of kitchen, dining, and living spaces that are now properly orientated towards the rear garden. The project also includes a series of bespoke garden buildings designed to provide dedicated space for creative practice. These additions serve as a quiet retreat away from the main house, offering a workshop and studios that are filled with natural light. The result is a more joyful and practical home that supports a creative lifestyle by providing uplifting spaces with a strong, permanent connection to nature.
