The London Gateway is the UK’s first deep-sea container port in over 25 years, integrating a major port with Europe’s largest logistics park. Located at Stanford-le-Hope, it can handle up to 3.5 million TEU and deliver 9.5 million sq ft of distribution space, reducing onward road transport. Chetwoods developed the masterplan and continues to design key plots, including a 33,000 sq ft BREEAM ‘Very Good’ headquarters and a 110,000 sq ft welfare and maintenance facility. The £1.5 billion scheme represents a significant infrastructure investment, supporting national logistics capacity and large-scale job creation.
