New Build
32 Frederick Street , BIRMINGHAM , West Midlands , B1 3HH , United Kingdom
Chetwoods’ design for the Claremorris BioPark development at Kilbeg in Ireland has been granted planning permission. The €30m development will comprise a Biomedical Manufacturing & R&D Plant, a Combined Heat and Power 4.9MWe (CHP) Facility, a Wood Pellet manufacturing facility, offices and labs. The BioPark represents an innovative new concept being introduced to the West of Ireland by BioPharMed West Ltd and Imperative Energy Ltd. At its heart is the provision of renewable, green energy on the site for a variety of industrial and commercial uses, with the co-location of the CHP plant and the Biomedical facility enabling maximum energy potential to be extracted from locally produced woodchip in a way that is both economically and environmentally efficient. In accordance with a perpetually legally binding covenant on the land, the CHP plant will be fuelled only by woodchip from sustainably managed forests to generate renewable, clean energy in the form of electricity and steam. This will be used on-site by the Biomedical facility in the sterilization process, and of Claremorris, to create a green energy town.
