Set on an escarpment overlooking the Vale of the White Horse, Ridgeway House is a thoughtfully designed low-energy family home that remodels an existing farmstead. Positioned on the edge of the North Wessex Downs, the project makes the most of its elevated site and expansive views across the Oxfordshire lowlands. The clients sought a home that would bring them closer to ageing family members while providing flexible accommodation for extended family. The scheme combines the renovation of a 19th-century brick barn with new-build elements that consolidate into a coherent new home. Landscape regeneration underpins the design strategy, reconnecting the house to a renewed and revitalised ecological setting.
