This is a listed 17th century Manor House on a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it presented a challenging and complex planning and build process. The principle interior spaces were rearranged to enhance the flow of the house and we worked in close collaboration with the client on interior finishes and design. An unsympathetic addition was made in the late 20th century which obscured the layout and beauty of the original house. This has been replaced by a light filled, contemporary extension which gives primacy back to the original manor house. It creates a cohesive kitchen and living space that connects seamlessly with the gardens whilst providing subtle separation from the main house. Sited in beautiful rolling hills, with an extensive garden, the overall effect harmonises landscape, architecture and interiors.
