This project is the new headquarters for an employee-owned ethical finance company, designed as a regenerative exemplar that reflects the organisation's values. An almost entirely timber building sits within two retained steel-frame agricultural barns, minimising embodied carbon through careful reuse. High-performance bio-based materials deliver passive-equivalent energy performance, while a large photovoltaic and battery system generates clean electricity on-site. The flexible workspace is shared between the finance company, an education foundation, and the local community. Across the wider 24-acre site, extensive rewilding and planting supports a projected 3,300 tonnes of carbon sequestration, with carbon neutrality anticipated within ten years.
