Courtyard House is a two-bedroom new-build home on a highly constrained backland site in Forest Hill, London. Bolans Architects provided services from pre-application and planning through technical design, construction and Party Wall coordination. Set approximately 1.8 metres into the sloping ground, the house is organised around a private courtyard that brings daylight and landscape deep into the plan while reducing its impact on neighbouring properties. The project also incorporates a living roof and greywater recycling, combining careful planning, spatial efficiency and sustainable design within a compact urban site.
