The construction of an enclosed footbridge link over Plashet Grove to connect the north and south wings of Plashet school. The bridge comprises a box truss of two halves which cantilever and form a crossing point as they intelock at the centre. The two sections of the bridge form a right angle at the junction with the two buildings and curve in plan as they sweep past the existing trees towards the centre. The trusses are clad in stainless steel panels which form the roof and the enclosure to one side of the bridge. The opposite side is infilled with glazing. The arrangement alternates on the other half of the bridge. The bridge is supported on sculptural precast concrete columns.
