Located in North East London, this design for a mid-terrace Victorian house seeks to redefine the relationship between an ill-considered existing rear extension and the original house.  Our design respects the existing ground floor layout and mimics these proportions out into a new garden room. It uses a consistent material palette to tie the two spaces together. Designed for a client with an interest in a collaged and complex design that celebrates the layers of history evident in a period property but employs modern construction and attitudes towards materials to add their mark.The project adds two extra bedrooms and a shower room upstairs, as well as creating a laundry room by reducing the size of the existing bathroom.
