Becoming X has worked closely with Oxleas NHS Trust to create a master plan for the site - at the centre of this plan is an ambition to reconnect the site to is natural surroundings and, in doing so, enhance the health and well-being of both the patients and service providers. As part of the master plan, Becoming X carried out multiple on-site surveys to map the existing context. Much of this came out of the extensive community consultations carried out in which service providers voiced concerns regarding unlit areas of the site in the winter months. Mapping of existing lighting and dark spots as well as mapping and site access helped inform the Trust’s management and maintenance practices to reduce this.
