In 2008 Yarm School, an independent co-educational private day school, appointed Associated Architects to develop masterplans for their separate Senior School and Prep School sites within the historic town of Yarm. The over-arching driver for the School was to upgrade and expand the buildings on the respective sites to support modern teaching practices, and to meet the needs and expectations of their students. We delivered a masterplan and number of buildings, including the £20m Princess Alexandra Auditorium containing classrooms, and a multi-use dance and drama group activities spaces with flexible seating for 800 and received both a RIBA Regional Award and a Civic Trust Award.
