About the practice

AGORA Architects is a RIBA Chartered architectural practice specialising in bespoke homes, planning-led residential design and challenging development sites. Based in Norfolk and working across East Anglia and the wider UK, we create highly considered, site-specific architecture that responds to landscape, context, character and the individual needs of our clients. Our experience ranges from contemporary new homes and replacement dwellings to rural housing, barn conversions, residential extensions, small developments and complex planning projects. We have particular expertise in sites where achieving planning permission requires a strong architectural, landscape and sustainability-led case, including exceptional-quality homes in the countryside, sensitive rural development and proposals following previous planning refusals. Planning and design are considered together from the outset. We combine detailed site analysis, planning research, architectural design, 3D modelling, point-cloud surveys and high-quality visualisation to develop proposals that are both ambitious and grounded in their context. Sustainability is integrated into our design process through building orientation, energy efficiency, passive design principles, low-energy technologies, material selection, biodiversity and landscape enhancement.
