The challenge: A compartmentalised ground floor with a separate kitchen and living area lacked flow and connection to the garden, making it feel confined and uninspiring for family life or entertaining. Our approach: We designed a modest but impactful extension to open up the layout, creating a light-filled, sociable open-plan space. A striking glazed gable elevates the ceiling and invites sky views, bringing drama and natural light deep into the home. A bi-fold window creates a bar-style servery to the garden—perfect for alfresco dining and summer entertaining. The result: A flexible, uplifting living space that effortlessly connects indoors and out, designed for relaxed family life and joyful hosting.
